Residents rotate in Gastrointestinal (GI) Radiology during each year of our four-year program.
They are taught the use of the fluoroscopic equipment, the performance and interpretation of
fluoroscopic examinations, as well as how to chose and tailor the correct examination for the
appropriate clinical indications. Both a reading list and printed standard operating procedures
are provided and residents are given increasing levels of responsibility during the course of their training.
Residents are instructed in the correlation of different imaging examinations as well as
endoscopic and pathologic correlation with images. GI radiology conference is given three times
each month and consists of both didactic and interactive questions and answer sessions with clinical
correlation. Additional correlative conferences take place with the gastroenterologists and surgeons.
Residents frequently participate in interactions with other clinical services.
