The Nuclear Medicine Division of the Department of Radiology at Winthrop-University Hospital is one
of ten clinical sites that provide clinical rotations for Nuclear Medicine Technology students from the
Nuclear Medicine Technology Program from Molloy College. In addition to the main Nuclear Medicine
Department in Winthrop-University Hospital, there are separate nearby nuclear facilities in the new
Winthrop Radiology Associates, P.C. office and in the new Winthrop-University Hospital P.E.T. center.
The clinical supervisor for the Clinical Nuclear Medicine Technology program at Winthrop is Valerie Konon, RT(N), CNMT.
The Nuclear Medicine Technology A.A.S. degree program offered at Molloy College is accredited by the
Joint Review Committee On Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology. The Nuclear Medicine
Technology Program’s goal is to develop competent and professional nuclear medicine technologists who,
by virtue of theory and practice, are proficient in all facets of nuclear medicine, are capable of
passing the certification examination, and have a high degree of adaptability in a changing technology.
