RADIOLOGY RESULTS:
Radiology results are available at several locations and in several formats:
- Electronic Data - Radiology Film Library computer terminal or at Nursing Station computer terminals.
- Analog Data - in the Log Books located in the GI, GU, CT, Sonography, MRI, ER, or Nuclear Medicine areas or written in the patient’s x-ray folder or chart.
Report Formats:
Preliminary report: Issued by Radiology Resident or Attending, but not officially dictated and signed by the Radiology Attending.
Final Report: Signed by the Radiology Attending.

RADIOLOGY INFORMATION SYSTEM:
The Department has a computerized Radiology Information System called IDX-RAD that enables you to access your patient’s procedure
record and film location, and which stores Radiology reports on your patients. The Radiology Information System is now interfaced with the
Hospital Information System. Radiology reports can therefore be retrieved at any computer terminal that accesses
the Hospital Information System.
All inquiries are made using the patient’s medical record number (MRN). Radiographic studies are filed according to this number and when
seeking x-ray folders or reports you should know the patient’s MRN. Radiographs are signed out to you using your Hospital ID badge.
The patient’s film folder is a part of their medical record; only authorized use of these documents is allowed. Radiologic studies MUST
be signed out with the file room personnel, if they are taken out of the file room; additionally, they cannot leave the hospital premises.
